Privacy Policy

TL;DR

FocusGate collects no personal data. Everything stays on your device. We don't have servers that store your information.

What we store

FocusGate stores the following data locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local:

— Your XP, level, streak, and challenge count
— Your blocked sites list
— Your Anthropic API key (if provided)
— Free time timer state
— Blocked visit counts (reset daily)

None of this data ever leaves your device or is sent to our servers.

Anthropic API key

If you choose to add an Anthropic API key, it is stored locally in your browser and sent directly to Anthropic's API (api.anthropic.com) to generate coding challenges. It is never sent to FocusGate's servers — because there are none.

Third-party services

If you use your Anthropic API key, your requests are subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

Permissions

FocusGate requests the following Chrome permissions:

declarativeNetRequest — to redirect blocked sites
storage — to save your stats and settings locally
alarms — to manage the free time countdown
notifications — to notify you when free time ends

Analytics & tracking

None. FocusGate contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no third-party trackers.

Children's privacy

FocusGate does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated date at the top will reflect it.
